What is
a building material capable of forming many unique finishes. If to sum up the building material in one sentence, terrazzo is described as a composite material, poured in place or prefabricated for precast terrazzo which is used for flooring, base, walls, stair treads, countertops, and other custom products. Terrazzo consists of chips of marble, granite, quartz, glass, shell, or other suitable materials. It uses either a cement or epoxy matrix as the binder.

Colortek's Concrete Terrazzo System is ideal for outdoor applications. The concrete terrazzo can be customized with a limited and less vibrant color range that our epoxy-based system, and requires rectangular strip geometry as opposed by the limitless geometry available to our epoxy terrazzo system. Created in the 15th century in Venice as a low-cost way to surface terraces surrounding the city’s homes, Terrazzo became popular during the mid-century era, where it could be found in commercial spaces including airports, cultural institutions, schools, and hotels.
